Choosing people to help your Pacific community organisation

This page gives information on people and groups with skills in helping Pacific community organisations in areas such as planning, developing quality management systems, governance training and operational development at both committee and board level.  If you are looking for assistance in these areas, the list may help you to find someone.

TALOFA LAVA, KIA ORANA, MALO E LELEI, HALO
OLAKETA, KAM NA MAURI, IA ORANA
FAKAALOFA LAHI ATU, MAHALO
NI SA BULA VINAKA, TALOHA NI

Choosing an organisation

You could start by looking for those who are on the list for your part of the country and are actively involved in delivering training or providing support in the kind of things you are looking for.  Scroll down for the links.

We are not able to guarantee that the people and groups on this list will be right for your organisation.  We suggest that you ask them for referees, for example the names of other groups with which they have worked.  You could contact those groups for feedback.

Whether the people you are thinking of using are on these lists or not, here are some suggestions that we hope will help you choose someone to help your organisation.

How do we pay for these services?

For community groups to run their organisation well, they need to be well led and managed, so it is worth budgeting for improving your group’s skills in these areas.  A few of the training resources on the list are free of charge.  For the others, there are now several sources of funding that Pacific organisations can apply to for what is often called “capacity building” or “provider development”.
