Volunteernet hits 1,000
A perfect match for event volunteers and event organisers, VolunteerNet recently celebrated enlisting over 1,000 volunteers.
VolunteerNet is an interactive website that makes it easy for you to get involved with event volunteering; and also makes it easy for event organisers to get in touch with keen, willing volunteers to boost the capability and capacity of their events.
"It's a bit like an internet dating website for events," said Kylie Archer, Manager of the Ministry of Economic Development's Major Events team, "interested people can register as volunteers and then search for event opportunities that match their location, skills and experience".
"And event organisers can search and advertise for volunteers who have the expertise they need."
With over 1,000 volunteers now registered, VolunteerNet is encouraging event organisers to get on board and start tapping into this excellent, free resource.
It's a free service for all - both volunteers and event organisers. Events range can from sporting, music, cultural, environmental, community focused and more.
VolunteerNet aims to build a network of experienced and enthusiastic volunteers across New Zealand.
