Promotional brochures
A promotional brochure is a useful tool for marketing your organisation, but in order for it to be truly effective; there are 3 key things you will need to consider.
1. What is the purpose of your brochure?
Obviously your brochure is a tool for marketing your organisation, but you need to be clear about exactly what you are trying to market, and who you are trying to market to. For example, are you using your brochure to promote your services to potential clients, or is it a tool to help you secure new sponsors? Being clear about the purpose of your brochure will help you decide what information you need to include.
2. How and where will your brochure be distributed?
You can distribute your brochures through all sorts of avenues depending on who you are trying to reach. Perhaps you could have them available at your local doctors or health professionals, at various retail stores, in the reception area of your sponsors place of work, and in your own office. Is it a brochure you will post out, or one you will make available in brochure stands?
Working out exactly how and where you will distribute your brochures will help you decide on the size and format of your brochure.
3. What overall look and feel are you trying to achieve?
You don’t need to be a graphic designer to create an effective brochure, but you do need to decide on one look or feel for your design, and keep it consistent. Whether you want your brochure to look professional, friendly, casual, modern or whatever – choose just a couple of fonts and colours to use throughout and stick with it.
