One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Project

One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is an initiative to provide under-privileged children from around the world with a $100 laptop to increase their educational opportunities.

The mission of the OLPC movement is to ensure that all school-aged children in the developing world are able to engage effectively with their own personal laptop, networked to the world, so that they, their families and their communities can openly learn and learn about learning.

OLPC is funded by a number of sponsor organizations, including AMD, Brightstar Corporation, eBay, Google, Marvell, News Corporation, SES, Nortel Networks, and Red Hat.
