The Digital Development Forum and Digital Development Council

The Digital Development Forum and Digital Development Council will work together to help realise New Zealand's Digital potential. They are independent bodies not tied to any government agency.

The primary purpose of the Forum will be to serve the national interest and, in particular, to interface with and contribute to the development and implementation of the Digital Strategy.

The overall vision that will guide the Forum and the Council is consistent with the vision contained in the Digital Strategy:

"That New Zealand will be a world leader in using information and technology to realise its economic, social, environmental and cultural goals, to the benefit of all New Zealanders"

Digital Development Forum

The Digital Development Forum is expected to represent the varied interests of the wider digital community, with representation from the business, local government, ICT users (such as academics and the research and science sector) community and voluntary sector, and the ICT industry.

Digital Development Council

For the establishment phase The Council will be made up of the independent Chair and 10 members. The members were appointed (one each) by the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand (Inc), InternetNZ (Inc), New Zealand Computer Society (Inc), WIT Group (Inc), the 2020 Communications Trust, LGNZ, Business New Zealand, Te Huarahi Tika Trust, the ICT industry and the community and voluntary sector.
