Officer Kit

Being an officer of a charity means you have certain responsibilities and obligations – as well as an opportunity to learn, extend your skills, and contribute to the success of your charity. The Charities Commission has developed an online resource kit for officers of charities, which brings together several new and updated resources, including several new resources.

The first is a “kit” (brochure) for officers, that the Commission encourages charities to provide to each of their current officers, and to include in new officers inductions. It covers all the basics, and signposts to other places you can find help

The second new resource isa Trustee’s responsibilities information sheet. It answers some of the most commonly-asked questions

Also new are FAQs answering some of the specific questions charities have been asking.

The "kit" also includes two quizzes, for charity officers and trustees. The first looks at all the “basics”. The second is about officer’s liabilities and obligations.

The online kit also handily includes links to the Commission's Officer Certification information sheet, which sets out the Charities Act’s requirements, and the Officer Certification form.
