Linking research with advocacy & policy
This new Handbook provides a useful framework for community organisations wanting to turn research "from insight to impact". It comes with a wealth of practical research, assessment, communication and policy influence tools.
"Tools for Policy Impact: A Handbook for Researchers" (October 2004) by Daniel Start and Ingie Hovland is published by the Research and Policy in Development (RAPID) programme of the UK-based Overseas Development Institute.
Many useful ideas, checklists and templates are packed into just 72 pages of this Handbook, which aims to help strengthen the links "from insight to impact". While written for international development Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), it is easily applied to other issues.
On the RAPID website there are other useful project examples, resources, and publications relating to international development.
