Government resources
Sometimes change can only be done at the government level. Here are some resources that help you find out where you can make change at a national level through existing government processes.
- Decisionmaker Guide to Parliament and Government: an easy to read guide to how Parliament works, what the Government is responsible for, how laws are made, and how to have your voice heard when you want to make change.
- Making a Submission: links to any calls for current submissions to select committees are available on the Parliament website Select Committees page. If you haven't made a submission before, see the Select Committee page on the Decisionmaker site first, or the guide linked from http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/HvYrSay/Submission/. You can also search for current submissions from the main Government website page: www.govt.nz. Enter "submissions" in the search box and it will provide you with links to current submissions being sought, as well as advice on making submissions.
- Parliament website: to find out what is happening at Parliament, this website has links to all the major areas: MPs, select committees, latest press releases, and even how to visit Parliament to see the MPs in action.
