Political Lobbying

An MP's guide to lobbying Members of Parliament.

Tim Barnett, MP for Christchurch Central, has produced an insider's guide to lobbying MPs: Political Lobbying: How to plan and deliver a strategy. The information is published on the Volunteer Wellington website, and is a useful guide for community organisations wanting to push for changes in government legislation and policies.

The guide is very practical, covering how to plan for a meeting with MPs, preparation, effective lobbying tools, submission writing, and even a lobbying self-assessment chart.  The steps are clearly written and sensibly organised.
