Advocacy In Action
An online resource kit produced by the Council for International Development.
Advocacy in Action (PDF format, 231 KB) (on http://www.cid.org.nz/training/resource-kit) is designed for international development NGOs who want to use advocacy as a tool for social change. It is also applicable to other community organisations working within New Zealand.
The kit contain key definitions and principles of advocacy and an extremely useful step by step guide to planning an advocacy campaign, with templates and planning tools. These cover analysis of the issues, setting objectives, identifying key players, communication, and action plans. Examples from NGO campaigns are included, as well as other practitioner information from a 2003 CID workshop on advocacy.
