Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa (ACYA)

ACYA advocates for children and young people, in particular on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children.

The Advocating for Children as a Population Group case study describes three examples of collaboration by NGOs which advocate on behalf of children:

  • "Making it Happen: implementing children's agenda for children" - a NGO report on implementation of the Government’s Agenda for Children.
  • Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa - the organisation responsible for collating the NGO report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.
  • The work of EPOCH New Zealand - End Physical Punishment of Children.
