The closing date for this course has been extended and Applications are still open for the remaining 2006/07 Unlimited Potential Learning Foundation (UPLIFT) training courses.
The next UPLIFT training course is scheduled for 27 November. Applications must be submitted by Friday, 10 November 2006.
UPLIFT is a free, four-day course for community project workers designed to provide training and build skills in information and communication technology (ICT). Travel, food and accommodation costs are provided and arranged through the event organisers.
UPLIFT training courses are funded by Microsoft New Zealand and delivered by Whitireia Community Polytechnic, with the Department of Internal Affairs supporting its delivery in an administrative capacity.
UPLIFT'S 'train the trainer' approach aims to develop the ICT capacity of communities throughout New Zealand. The initial training course gives participants the knowledge and support to return to their communities and teach ICT skills to others.
UPLIFT aligns with the Government's Digital Strategy and its vision to make New Zealand a world leader in using ICT.
