Recognising and valuing the:
- Diversity of our society
- Importance of community learning and enterprise to the country’s development
- Benefits of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to developing an individual’s, family’s / whanau, hapu, iwi and community’s potential
- Importance of context and relevance for adult learners
- Participants’ current thinking, prior knowledge and experience, and personal aspirations.
Contribute to the development of sustainable community technology learning centres by
- Exploring opportunities for learners to enter other ICT learning programmes
- Ensuring that the course is flexible, seen as relevant by the participants and stakeholders, and meets academic quality standards
- Developing models and practical tools that enable whanau, hapu, community groups, business and government to work together at a local and national level
- Encouraging collaboration and relationship building within and across economically disadvantaged and/ or underserved localities and communities
- Contribute to the development of economically disadvantaged and/or underserved localities and communities through the up-skilling of individual learners, whanau, hapu and community organisations.
