Forgotten Women – new NZ research on homelessness and women

Community Sector Taskforce (CST),

Kate Bukowski has completed a thesis called 'Forgotten Women: a study of women and homelessness in Auckland'.

This qualitative study is one of the few pieces of research into women's homeless in New Zealand.

It investigates why some women in New Zealand are without permanent, safe and secure accommodation and what can be done to minimise the risk of female homelessness in New Zealand.

The thesis was submitted for Kate Bukowski's Master of Public Health at the University of Auckland and was awarded first class honours.

The study can be downloaded from the Community Sector Taskforce website: http://cst.org.nz/r/file/909108-2009-11-16T010218Z/Forgotten%20Women%20Kate%20Bukowski.pdf (PDF document, 536 Kb)
