The Community Sector Taskforce have established a spot on CommunityNet.NZ with the support of Community Net Aotearoa. This is now where the community will find information on the Taskforce work to date, the current work of the 3 groups, and information on the forums, including dates, venues, times and contact details.

Invitations to attend Regional forums have been widely circulated throughout the sector. There will be 26 Forums held around New Zealand.

If you haven’t received an invitation and would like to attend please contact the host agency in the area nearest to you.
Purpose
The forums will be considering proposals for a more collaborative future for the sector, and will cover:

A proposal for a common declaration or statement
- A proposal for an ongoing leadership model / entity for the whole sector

An update on the work resulting from the He Waka Kotuia report
-
A framework for treaty based practice in our sector
-
Opportunity to highlight local and national issues
What's in it for you?

Strengthening links with others in your region from the voluntary and community sector

A chance to give input and response to proposals for a common statement and action across the country

Opportunity to nominate yourself or others for the national forum in May
- Taking action on specific local or national issues that affect you and others in the sector.
National Project Leadership Group (NPLG)
NPLG is made up of four national umbrella groups.

The National Project Coordinator is Denise Gallanagh-Wood. Denise is working with host agencies to ensure that forums cover as much of the country as possible and that community networks are identified and connected across NZ.s
Information Networks
The South Island project group held a forum in December to discuss the possibilities of enhancing their existing networks.
A project leadership team was formed is meeting in March to further the project.
The Auckland Networking Project Group have appointed a Project Coordinator, Fay Freeman, who will work on identifying local networks and linking the existing networks together.
National Network Project
Networks are being identified around New Zealand.
Sustainable options are being considered for a National network.
