Tiriti/Treaty based practice in the community and voluntary sector

MANDATE

Promoting Treaty-based practice across the community sector and Treaty training for working within a Treaty framework were identified as priorities by the Steering Group and noted in He Waka Kotuia as follows:

The need throughout the community sector to develop and improve practices based on recognition of the central role of the Treaty of Waitangi. There is clear support for a vision of a “Treaty driven society as unique in the world” and recognition that significant commitment and resources are required to address this.
