Flaxroots Technology Conferences, New Zealand, 2000, 2002 and 2003

The Flaxroots Technology conferences were organised in 2000 and 2002, with a mini-conference in 2003, for people interested in using the Internet and other new technology to build stronger communities.

The Flaxroots Technology Conference in 2002: Communities Creating the Future "Araa kee noa atu ngaa painga ka puta." ("making a world of difference") was held at Unitec Auckland from 11-12 April 2002. One-day satellite conferences were held in Christchurch and Dunedin on April 11th.

The conference website provides an overview of the events. Conference papers, programmes, speaker biographies, photographs and other materials are available online. http://www.flaxroots.net.nz/

As part of the Flaxroots Technology conference, a discussion forum was been set-up to provide a friendly space for people interested in flaxroots technology to share stories, ask questions, or debate issues, facilitated by Duncan McClachlan, Wellington City Library.
