Napier Family Centre offers free counselling for Earthquake refugees

Napier Family Centre,

Napier Family Centre is offering free counselling for people who have fled from Christchurch to Napier following the earthquake.

“We know many people have left Christchurch already or will be leaving in the next few weeks and for those who have chosen Napier we are in a position to offer free counselling,” said Roydon Day, Napier Family Centre CEO.

“People will perhaps have chosen Napier because they have family or friends connections. This will be a great comfort to the families who are going through this truly awful time. People may be feeling an enormous mix of emotions including being anxious, distressed, confused and traumatised that can be overwhelming and we are extending our services to help. There may also be people in Napier who have lost a loved one in this disaster and our offer includes counselling through this grief.”
