Skate4Cancer,
Originating in 2004, Skate4Cancer is a not for profit grassroots organization that raises awareness of cancer, primarily targeting a youth demographic.
They operate by skateboarding the width or length of a country (whichever is longest) in order to draw attention to their cause. Once that is accomplished, they promote a variety of campaigns that focus on healthy and preventative lifestyles ranging from self-breast examinations to healthy eating.
After covering the majority of North America, Skate4Cancer have decided to take on the world. Beginning in early January, they’re skating from Auckland to Dunedin.
That means skateboarding the entire distance between the two cities, along the winding New Zealand roads.

After that, they head to Australia to face one of the biggest challenges yet! Skating downunder in the heat of the Aussie sun, and facing off against every obstacle the infamous continent is famous for.
The Skate4Cancer website also offers a comprehensive detailing of their mission, history as well as other important information. Currently, the most vital tool for the cause is publicity. If we gather attention, we can mobilize young people and start saving lives.
