Helping Hands Projects chosen

Volunteering Auckland,

In November 2007 we sent out a request for projects that up to 200 people could undertake in various areas of greater Auckland on 8 March.

Thank you to all those who put forward applications for their projects to be put forward for selection by this faith-based group.

We are pleased to announce that the successful projects are:

• Waitakere – Project Twin Streams [in partnership with Waitakere City Council]
• North Harbour – Girl Guides Hall, Takapuna and the Glenfield Presbyterian Church
• Waterview – Woodlands Park Primary School
• Mt Roskill – Motu Moana Scout Camp
• Panmure – Beach clean up in Beachlands area
• Tamaki – Yendarra Kindergarten, Otara
• Manukau – David Lange Park, Mangere and Peninsula Park
• Papatoetoe – Hindu Community Trust
• Manurewa – Onehunga Community House
• Papakura – Pukekohe Rec Centre

If your project wasn’t chosen this time, don’t despair. We have other groups, albeit not so large, who are looking for one-off projects to undertake.

Also, the Helping Hands project will be run again next year and as an annual event. Watch out for our requests for projects in the future.
