Australasian Association of Volunteer Managers, National
For the first time ever, 1 November this year is International Volunteer Manager Appreciation Day (IVMAD). IVMAD recognises that behind the army of volunteers lies an equally dedicated group of individuals who are responsible for the co-ordination, support, training, administration and recruitment of the world's volunteers.
These skilled professionals, who are often not well-paid, are adept at taking singular passion and turning it into effective action. So mark the date in your calendars, and start thinking about how to make sure the people who act as leaders and catalysts get the recognition they deserve.
Visit www.ivmaday.org or contact the Australasian Association of Volunteer Managers to find out more.
