Volunteering New Zealand, National
From 2007, Volunteer Awareness Week will move to the third week in June (instead of March). This means Volunteer Awareness Week will be 17-23 June next year. The shift has been made by Volunteering New Zealand following input from the Volunteer Centres and VNZ's national members.
The new dates will create a bigger gap between this promotional campaign and International Volunteer Day (5 December). This will mean high profile activities and publicity about the benefits of volunteering will be spread through the year to help keep the value of volunteering top of mind for New Zealanders. Watch for news of IVD and VAW later in the year through Volunteering NZ's website www.volunteeringnz.org.nz and its newsletter, VNZ Update.
