Macdonald Youth Services, Winnipeg, Canada
Winnipeg, Canada, June 14, 2006 -- Macdonald Youth Services (MYS), a leading Winnipeg-based registered charitable organization, launched their Virtual Volunteering News and Online Volunteering Announcements RSS Feed today. With their RSS Feed, other charities and non-profit organizations around the globe will be able to easily stay informed about developments in their leading-edge virtual volunteering program without having to regularly visit MYS's Web site.
RSS, which refers to "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication", will enable MYS to easily syndicate their virtual volunteering and online volunteering news to other non-profits and charitable organizations (as well as audio enclosures that may accompany their news items). Using easy-to-use software called an RSS Feed Reader or Aggregator, any user will be able to receive MYS's Virtual Volunteering Announcements delivered free, directly to their desktop, as they are published.
"We see an RSS Feed as an efficient method to freely share our eight years of pioneering work and successes in the virtual volunteer program development area with other non-profit and charitable organizations as they happen," stated MYS's Virtual Volunteer Program Developer Randy Tyler.
To help other non-profits that are not familiar with RSS Feeds, MYS has provided easy-to-follow instructions that explain how to subscribe to their RSS Feed along with a suggested list of RSS Feed Readers. And for those not wishing to use an RSS Reader, MYS also offers a method to receive their RSS Feed by e-mail.
