Regional Funders Forums planned

Philanthropy New Zealand, the Office for the Community and Voluntary Sector and the Department of Internal Affairs are planning a series of regional forums for grantmakers of all types. The funders forums will help connect philanthropic, government, corporate and other grantmakers in a particular region so they can share information and good practice on grantmaking. Where there is local demand, presentations may be made on subjects highlighted in responses to a 2006 Philanthropy NZ survey and the specific interests of each region's grantmakers.

A pilot forum will be held in Wellington before December 2006, with around 14 additional forums between March and July 2007. It is hoped the series of forums will provide a foundation for future regional networking and communication between grantmakers, grantseekers and non-government organisations so they can better assist communities to realise their aspirations.
