Volunteering Canterbury, Christchurch
Volunteering Canterbury marked its eighteenth birthday this week with the launch of a weblog which provides a forum for interactive discussion among those who support Volunteers.
Manager Ruth Gardner says: “The new blog at www.volcan.wordpress.com is a useful adjunct to our popular website. It means that anyone can share topical items of interest, get answers to problems, participate in discussion, and generally keep in contact without having to attend meetings. The blog will be of interest to Volunteer Co-ordinators, Committee Chairs and Secretaries, and anyone within the wider voluntary sector.
“All articles are automatically archived under category and date, so there is a permanent record which can easily be found using the search facility. People can also follow directions to arrange for any new items to be sent to them by e-mail.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this free extra service to all those who support Volunteers, especially those in other parts of Canterbury who may have less opportunity to attend our workshops and meetings.”
