The Hospital Benchmark Information reports are published quarterly to report on data supplied by the hospital services in District Health Boards (DHBs). Please see www.moh.govt.nz/whatsnew.html#1 for more information.
This is the Ministry of Health consultation document on the Maternity Facility Access Agreement, a contract which sets out the obligations of Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) accessing DHB maternity facilities when bringing women into hospital for labour and birth services. The contract is being reviewed following recommendations released by the Health and Disability Commissioner in January. It sets out six recommendations on how the agreement could be improved. Please see www.moh.govt.nz/whatsnew.html#1 for more information.
The provision of ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) is a controversial area with a great deal of public interest. In response to a 2003 Health Select Committee recommendation the Ministry of Health has an ongoing programme of work. An Independent review of ECT has been completed and this is the first report of annual statistics for ECT use in New Zealand. Please see www.moh.govt.nz/whatsnew.html#1 for more information.
