New look Keeping it Legal E Ai Ki Te Ture website

OCVS and NZFVWO, National

This online legal resource for community and voluntary organisations has had an extreme makeover! The rapid distribution of the first print run of Keeping it Legal created an opportunity for Office for the Community and Voluntary Sector (OCVS) and the NZ Federation of Voluntary Welfare Organisations to incorporate feedback received from users of the resource, and make changes — both online and in print.

The changes include developing a separate factsheet on Contracts, further clarifying the law relating to charitable trust boards, volunteers, and sexual harassment, and updating information relating to the Charities Commission.

The website www.keepingitlegal.net.nz can now be used as a dynamic record-keeping tool helping you to find the information you need, when you need it. The new site allows users to complete checklists online and create customised action plans to address issues they identify. The OCVS will continue to update and improve the resource as required, so welcome your feedback (e-mail ocvs@msd.govt.nz).

Users are also encouraged to register online to receive e-mail updates when any changes are made. Go to www.keepingitlegal.net.nz to activate this feature.

Community groups can request a free printed copy of Keeping it Legal by e-mailing ocvs@msd.govt.nz.
