Entries open for Dynamic Community Learning Awards

Patrick McCombs, Alison Broad and Mary-Jane Rivers are delighted to offer two Dynamic Community Learning Awards this year.

This is the second year of awards to recognise and celebrate Community Learning. They have been established by the McCombs-Rivers Family and Alison Broad, and in association with Adult & Community Education Aotearoa (ACE Aotearoa), The awards have been created to celebrate the stories of education programmes that help strengthen communities.

The two Dynamic Community Learning Awards carry cash prizes of $200.

Criteria

The Awards are to recognise excellence, innovation, 'giving things a go’ and the excitement that comes from Adult and Community Education. More specifically we will be looking for activities that:

  • Create a specific community learning benefit (ie for more than
  • individual learners), or
  • Foster community-based learning activities that lead to new group development or transfer benefits to existing organisations, or
  • Draw on and 'grow' community, culturally-based knowledge, or
  • Help:

    • to promote active citizenship,
    • to strengthen the whanau / family,
    • to strengthen the neighbourhood or community, or

  • Spring from partnerships between ACE providers and community
  • organisations.

Please circulate this email to any group or organisation you consider is eligible. The closing date is Wednesday, 16 August.

The Awards will be presented during Adult Learners Week in September this year.
