Four new fact sheets were published on 9 November 2006:
The Charities Commission — Komihana Kaupapa Atawhai — is responsible for registering and monitoring charitable organisations in New Zealand.
The website will host the register of charities from 1 February 2007, when the registration of charities under the Charities Act 2005 begins.
In the meantime, as we finalise the processes around registration, we will provide information on what charities need to do to register as well as online assistance with registration.
Check the home page regularly for updates. You can also receive updates by email by subscribing to the contact database. Telephone, free, 0508 242 748 and ask to be put on the electronic database for monthly updates and other news.
