Submitting a 'Managing Well' resource
Information and tips for suggesting a resource for the 'Managing Well' catalogue.
- Heading
- The title of the book, video, newsletter or whatever the available resource is. Keep it short, no more than 6 or 7 words.
- The heading, organisation and the first couple of lines of the description are displayed in the updated relevant 'Managing Well' page, so make them concise and explanatory.
- Organisation
- The full name or a shortened plain language version of the publishing organisation's name. Avoid acronyms unless they are very well known. For example: put CommunityNet Aotearoa rather than just CNA.
- Town
- Where your organisation is based, or where the branch or local group that deals with the advertised item is based.
- Closing date
- No longer used.
- Description
- What resource is being suggested. Remember to explain what the item is (eg book, video, newsletter, report), the medium and format(s) it is available in (eg print and electronic version, VHS video, Mac or PC CD-ROM), the price, author, number of pages, language etc. Try and be brief. Avoid repeating information already in the Heading, Organisation or other parts of the form.
- Example: It is better to open with: 'A 40-minute video on conflict resolution in community groups, price $29.95…' followed by more details, rather than opening with: 'A great new resource for community and non-profit groups and trusts who may be facing problems with conflict among staff or membership is now available from…'
- Contact person
- The name of the person who can answer enquiries about the item advertised.
- Postal address
- A PO Box or street address for purchases or enquiries.
- Phone
- A number for enquiries or phone orders. You can include extensions and more than one phone number. Don't forget the area code.
- Email
- The email contact for purchase orders or further information. Consider using a generic office email address such as info@group.org.nz if staff email addresses change frequently.
- Website address
- An address where visitors can find more information about the advertised item. Link directly to the page with information about the product (eg a publications page), not just the home page of your organisation. Our system automatically inserts "Http://" at the beginning of the website address so don't include it in your entry. Check that the address you enter takes visitors to the resource. If it doesn't then add instructions about how to find it from the page they arrive at.
- Submitted by
- Name of the person or organisation submitting the advertisement.
- Submit
- Careful! Once you've pressed the Submit button you will be able to read your advertisement text, but you cannot edit it at this stage. Check your ad carefully before submitting. Your view of the submitted advertisement will not show paragraph breaks, and will not display your website address as a live link, but these will be correctly formatted in the published advertisement.
