Advisory Group
An Advisory Group with tangata whenua and community organisation members provides input into governance of the website.
Feedback received in March 2002 highlighted the need for community organisations to have input into the website's editorial policies, and strategic directions and future ownership. The Community Development Group (now called the Local Government and Community Branch - LG&C) set up an Advisory Group in November 2002 to provide a formal means for input to be channelled.
The Advisory Group structure was externally reviewed in 2004 and was found to be effective.
The Advisory Group has six community members, and a representative from each of Internal Affairs' Te Atamira Taiwhenua (Maori advisory council) and Pacific Island Consulting and Advisory Group.
You can send comments or questions directly to the Advisory Group by email: advisorygroup@community.net.nz.
