Funding

It can take a lot of effort to find funding for your organisation, for a project you are planning, or for your personal development – especially if you don’t know what's available. This guide provides helpful information about where and how to find funding, about funding applications, sponsorships, and related information.

Jula Goebel, the Funding How-to Guide Editor

The guide is maintained by Jula Goebel, the External Relationship Advisor, at Funding Information Service. If you have any feedback, questions, or suggestions about this guide please contact Jula via email on: jula@fis.org.nz.

Funding Information Service is a not-for-profit organisation that provides accessible and comprehensive funding information for New Zealand community groups, voluntary organisations, and for individuals. We have three separate searchable computer databases: FundView, BreakOut and CorporateCitizens .

Jula is trained as an Occupational Therapist, and then studied Education, focusing specifically on “Disability and Inclusion”. She came to New Zealand to study further, and completed a Masters degree at University of Otago. Since then, she has worked in the not-for-profit sector as a Project Manager and as an Employment Consultant, and, more recently, as an Advisor for both the Ministry of Education and the City Communities team at the Wellington City Council.

Her work in the not-for-profit sector involved preparing funding applications, and later, while working at the Council, she assessed funding applications from various community organisations, and provided ongoing support to organisations who received Council funding.
