Digital Strategy

The Digital Strategy is the government's - and the community's - vision for New Zealand to become a world-leader at using information and communications technology (ICT) to realise our economic, social, and cultural goals. Initiatives include the Community Partnership Fund.

The strategy was developed by central and local government with wide community and business consultation and launched in May 2005. It provides a framework to encourage "smart" use and uptake of ICTs by communities, businesses and government.

This Hot Topic focuses on the communities strand of the Digital Strategy, incorporating the earlier 'Connecting Communities' strategy. The main Digital Strategy website is at http://www.digitalstrategy.govt.nz.
